TAMPA, Fla. – Three games into the 2026 Fall Season, the Tampa Bay Sun FC have already made plenty of noise around the Gainbridge Super League.
From individual performances to league-wide recognition, the Sun have quickly found themselves represented across some of the league’s biggest monthly honors.
And we’re just getting started.
Nasello Does It Again
If there’s one name that has been hard to miss, it’s Sydny Nasello.
Following her standout performances to open the season, Nasello was named the league’s Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, becoming the first Sun player to earn the honor in back-to-back weeks.
Nasello has been a key part of the Sun’s attack early in the Fall Season, contributing both as a goal scorer and playmaker while consistently creating opportunities for her teammates.
And her recognition did not stop there.
Nasello was also named to the August Team of the Month and earned a nomination for Assist of the Month.

Three Sun in the Team of the Month
Nasello was joined on the August Team of the Month by teammates Shea Connors and Taylor Chism.
The trio helped set the tone for the Sun during the opening month of the Fall Season, earning recognition alongside some of the league’s top performers.
For Connors and Chism, the honor adds another accolade to their growing list of contributions in Tampa Bay, while Nasello’s selection comes after a particularly strong start to the campaign.

Zierenberg Gets the Nomination
A moment of individual brilliance from Tori Zierenberg also earned recognition, as the forward was nominated for the league’s Goal of the Month.
Zierenberg’s strike gave the Sun another highlight-worthy moment to add to the opening weeks of the season and put her among the league’s nominees for the monthly award.
Nasello Finds Another Nomination
At this point, it may be easier to keep track of where Nasello isn’t nominated.
Along with her Player of the Week honors and Team of the Month selection, Nasello was also nominated for Assist of the Month, recognizing another moment of creativity from the Sun attacker.
Roque Makes the Save
And then there was Cristina Roque.
The Sun goalkeeper was nominated for Save of the Month after a standout stop during the opening month of the season. When the league’s voting was complete, Roque came out on top, earning the August Save of the Month award.
It was a fitting recognition for a goalkeeper who has already made her presence felt in Tampa Bay.

And We’re Just Getting Started
Back-to-back Player of the Week honors. Three players named to the August Team of the Month. Nominations for Goal of the Month and Assist of the Month. And a Save of the Month winner.
Not a bad way to start the Fall Season.
There is still a long way to go, but the early recognition is a reflection of the performances happening across the pitch for the Sun.
And if the first few weeks are any indication, there should be plenty more moments worth celebrating.
The Fall Season is only getting started.
