WHEN THE SUN MEETS THE STORM
Tampa Bay and DC Power have developed a competitive history since the clubs first met, with the Sun holding the advantage in the all-time series. Their most recent meeting came on September 18 at Audi Field, where the sides played to a 1-1 draw. Shea Connors opened the scoring for Tampa Bay in the 62nd minute off an assist from Jordyn Listro before DC Power found an equalizer through Emma Jaskaniec eight minutes later.
Earlier meetings this year have also produced competitive results. Tampa Bay earned a 2-0 victory at Audi Field on March 26, while DC Power claimed its first-ever win against the Sun with a 2-0 result at Suncoast Credit Union Field on April 11. The clubs also played to a 1-1 draw in February.
With the series continuing to produce closely contested matches, Tampa Bay will look to bring the sunshine and use its home-field advantage to get back in the win column against a familiar opponent.
REIGNITING THE SPARK
Tampa Bay enters today’s matchup following a 1-0 loss to Brooklyn FC on October 24. The Sun battled through a scoreless first half and remained in contention throughout the match before Brooklyn found the breakthrough in the 90th minute through Catherine Zimmerman.
Despite the result, Tampa Bay will look to carry the defensive discipline and competitive effort from Brooklyn into today’s home matchup. The Sun will need to create more consistent attacking opportunities, capitalize on chances in the final third and maintain their organization across the pitch as they look to get back on track.
PREPARING FOR A POWER SURGE
DC Power arrives in Tampa following a 1-0 victory over Dallas Trinity FC on October 25. Midfielder Emily Colton scored the match’s lone goal in the 10th minute, capitalizing on a rebound after Abigail Boyan’s initial attempt struck the crossbar. The result also marked DC Power’s first clean sheet of the Fall Season.
The victory moved DC Power into fourth place in the Gainbridge Super League standings with 14 points. Tampa Bay will need to be prepared for a physical and organized opponent, particularly one coming off a strong defensive performance. The Sun will look to challenge DC’s back line, generate attacking opportunities and weather the early pressure from the visitors.

BRINGING THE HEAT AT HOME
With the Fall Season entering its final stretch, every opportunity to earn points becomes increasingly important. Tampa Bay returns home looking to put last week’s result behind them and build momentum in front of its home supporters.
The Sun have demonstrated their ability to compete with DC Power, including a road victory earlier this year. With three more home matches remaining after today’s contest, Tampa Bay will look to make the most of its opportunity at Suncoast Credit Union Field, bring the energy from the opening whistle and keep the points shining bright.
