Inspired by the World Cup? Free Soccer Expands Across Tampa Bay Thanks to TECO

A new season of free Tampa Bay Sun Foundation youth soccer clinics kicks off this month, thanks to Tampa Electric!

If the World Cup sparked a new love of soccer in your family, now’s the time to take that excitement to fields around the community.

Starting August 7, the Tampa Bay Sun Foundation will offer 19 free soccer programs for kids ages 7–13 across Tampa Bay, thanks to support from Tampa Electric (TECO).

Last season, TECO’s support helped the Foundation reach 1,292 children. This year, the Foundation expects to reach even more.

More Than Soccer

Each clinic gives kids a chance to learn new skills, make friends, build confidence, and discover the joy of the game in a welcoming environment.

TECO’s support will help fund four areas of programming from August 2026 through spring 2027:

Energize the Bay Youth Clinics: 10 free clinics for girls and boys ages 7–13 at fields throughout Tampa Bay.
Shine Soccer Clinics: 6 free clinics bringing soccer directly to Title I schools and youth-serving organizations.
Rise Up Soccer Club School Sessions: 3 four-week partnered sessions for girls combining soccer, leadership, and life skills.
Gear Goals: A year-round initiative providing quality soccer equipment to kids, players, coaches, teams, and organizations that need it.

Collect the Jerseys. Keep Coming Back.

Every clinic participant receives a free Tampa Bay Sun Foundation x TECO jersey. This year, there are three designs to collect!

Attend different clinics, and kids have the chance to collect all three designs. It’s a fun way to encourage them to stay active, build their skills, and keep coming back.

Select clinics will also feature players from Tampa Bay Sun FC, while all programs are led by U.S. Soccer Licensed Coaches and supported by the Foundation’s volunteer team, the Sunshine Squad.
